What is the best primer for oily skin?
At MAC we have a great range of Primers that cover all different skin types. If your skin is more on the oily side there are a couple of incredible products that will help to tackle this attribute.
FirstIy I would recommend MAC Prep and Prime Skin Base Visage which is a lightweight gel lotion, formulated with special-effect silicones which will encourage and help to smooth and calm the skin, as well as blotting away any excess oil. It will also even out any redness you may have in your skin whilst improving the laydown and application of a foundation or powder. The silicone in the primer creates a barrier between your skin and foundation, and when any excess oil is naturally produced in the skin, it absorbs the oil before it hits the foundation.
For anyone that has excessively oily skin I would also recommend using one of my favourite products MAC Prep and Prime Skin Refined Zone as an oil absorbing primer as it is a light, oil free emulsion that immediatley helps conceal visible pores whilst also immediately controlling the look of oil on the skin. This prouct dries instantly to create an invisible natural matte finish and is ideal for the t-zone, leaving the skin looking and feeling smooth and refined.
Another great primer that is specifically beneficial for oily skin is Prep and Prime Natural Radiance which is a silky gel emulsion that is rich in natural ingredients that will hydrate and prime the skin to improve foundation or powder application, and promote smooth texture. It contains Vitamins E and C which help reinforce the skin's natural barrier with antioxidants, whilst the caffeine in it calms the skin's appearance. It contains illuminating pearl powders which will give the skin a radiance without it appearing oily. Natural Radiance comes in two shades: Radiant Yellow which is especially effective on deeper skin tones and Radiant Pink for fairer skin tones. The formula disappears upon application, resulting in a beautiful glow.
