Does lip liner make a difference?
Using a lip liner can make a huge difference in a number of ways! For example it can give more volume and definition to your pout, it can give longevity to your lipstick and it can also stop your lipstick from feathering.
If you want to create subtle definition and give an illusion of volume to your lips and your lips have a naturally soft pink colour to them, you could choose the lip pencil Dervish. By applying this shade to the very edge of your lip line and not going outside of your lip line you are giving your lips definition which will in turn create the illusion of volume.
If for example you wanted to create a bigger fuller mouth then I would recommend using a lip pencil a few shades darker than your lips or the lipstick you intend to wear, for example if you are a fairer skin tone and want a nude but fuller lip you could use Honeylove lipstick and Spice lip pencil. By applying the deeper pencil just outside of your natural lip line, and then applying the lighter lipstick colour in the centre of your mouth, this will create an ombre effect will give the appearance of volume. If you are of a deeper skin tone you could use Viva Glam 1 lipstick and Vino. Applying a lip pencil to the edge of your mouth also stops your lipstick from feathering as a pencil is very matte with little to no oils in it.
PRO TIP:
A great way to give your lipstick longevity is to apply a lip pencil that is of a similar colour to the lipstick you intend to wear, for example if you wish to wear Ruby Woo lipstick I would recommend you fill your lips completely with Ruby Woo Lip Liner and then put a generous coating of the lipstick on top. This will ensure that your lipstick colour stays on for hours.
