How many shades of lipstick are there?
MAC has many shades of lipstick to choose from - over 200 in fact from all in different textures, Retromatte, Matte, Satin, Powderkiss, Cremesheen, Amplified, Lustre, Love Me and Frost. So I’m sure that whatever shade you are looking for, you can find it at MAC. If you are looking for a specific lipstick shade, turns out most other people are looking for it as well, so it’s worth checking out MAC’s top selling lipsticks first as they are all gorgeous shades that can be worn by all skin tones.
Here are a few of my favourites; If you don’t know about Velvet Teddy, where have you been? This is a deep toned matte beige lipstick that is truely for everyone, the perfect mix of beige, pink and peach. Iconic Retro Matte Ruby Woo is a true vibrant blue toned red and I am yet to find someone who doesn’t look good wearing it. A new favourite for me and many others is Powder Kiss lipstick in Devoted to chili, the soft focus texture of this muted yet spicy shade is great for wearing red in a very casual and modern way. You may be looking for that ‘your lips but better’ shade, and Twig is it! This is one of those muted browny pinky shades is a sophisticated finishing touch to any look.
If after looking through all 200+ shades you still haven't found what you are looking for then MAC Pro has you covered with LipMix, these are intermixable liquid lipsticks in primary and process shades and all in between to give you free reign to create every lip shade you could possibly imagine.
PRO TIP:
When using MAC Pro LipMix using the classic primary colours (Yellow, Blue and Red) mixed together will create tones found in nature and will be muted. For virbrant shades that pop, mix the process shades (Yellow, Cyan and Magenta) that mix and keep their clarity.
