Is MAC Ruby Woo drying?
MAC has many different formulas of lipstick, all giving the lips a different look and feel. MAC’s Retro Matte lipstick in the shade Ruby Woo is not only famous for being an incredible vibrant red that suits all skin tones, but also for its smooth, full coverage formula and almost velvety matte finish.
Inspired by the original matte formula, the retro matte formula of Ruby Woo contains the matting agents Kaolin and Silica as well as Dimethicone which helps to ensure smooth application. Adding ingredients that are commonly used to add hydration to lipsticks would compromise the finish and long wear that Ruby Woo is known for so although the lipstick itself will not dry out the lips the formula does not claim to be moisturising either.
By ‘prepping’ the lips and ensuring that they are in a good condition first you will be able to benefit from the incredible long wear and full colour advantages that Ruby Woo boasts, without experiencing any dryness throughout the day. In order to achieve the ultimate preparation for Ruby Woo or in fact, any lipstick aplication I have a few products that I rely on...Start with Lip Scrubtious Lip Scrub, a sugar based exfoliator to polish away dryness on the surface of the lips as well as leaving them feeling hydrated with its nourishing conditioners. Blot away any excess moisture from the lips with a tissue before using the magic Prep and Prime Lip, this primer is specifically designed to smooth the lips and add extra moisture without compromising the texture of the lipstick, wait a few seconds before applying your Ruby Woo for an even smoother, long lasting and more comfortable result.
