Is MAC Velvet Teddy cool or warm?

Velvet Teddy is a deep-tone beige, a perfect nude colour to wear all day and is suitable for most skin tones. It is primarily a warmer tone but it can look warm or cool depending on the natural tone present in your lip.

The colour of a lipstick can change colour when it is applied to the lip owing to the PH of the skin. Our skin has an acidic pH level of 4.5 – 5.5. and this can
vary from person to person, which is why lipsticks change or look different on some people compared to others.

You can also change the tone of a lipstick by teaming it with a lip pencil...

If you feel that Valvet Teddy is appearing cooler when applied to your lip and you would like to make it appear warmer, try applying a warmer toned lip pencil such as Spice Lip Pencil all over the lip first and then apply Velvet Teddy on top.

If however you feel it's appearing warmer on your lip and you wish to make it appear cooler, use a cooler toned lip pencil like Cork all over the lip and then apply the lipstick.

PRO TIP:
As Velvet Teddy is part of our matte range make sure to apply it over the top of MAC Prep and Prime Lip as this will provide immediate hydration and enhance the appearance of the lipstick. Just apply a thin coating over the lips and the edges of the lip, leave until it goes ever so slightly tacky and then pop Velvet Teddy on top!
