What is liquid matte lipstick?
Liquid matte lipstick sounds like a bit of an oxymoron but the way it works is that it starts as a liquid and once on the lips dries and transforms into a matte finish.
When MAC first launched Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour I was completely hooked! I love a matte lip and this formula is next level matte and so pigmented. I'm a lover of Ruby Woo Lipstick so my new found love was naturally the closest shade called Feel So Grand Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour. The reason I love it so much, well actually there are many, is that it's quick and easy. It's so highly pigmented that you only need one swipe for opaque colour and the tip of the applicator is pointed so that you can get a really crisp lip line, no need for a pencil or lip brush. I can wear it all day and it doesn't budge or disappear, longer than the 8 hour long-wear claimit has. It doesn't feather or bleed, flake or cake and it's even waterproof! This same formula also comes in a metallic matte version, Retro Matte Liquid Lipcolour Metallics which has the same great properties but with a really high shine finish which is normally associated with less long wearing glossy textures.
The newest addition to the liquid lipstick range is Powder Kiss Liquid Lipcolour, a beautifully weightless formula that delivers 10 hours of moisture which pretty impressive for a matte lipstick. It has a mousse-like cushiony texture that makes it so comfortable to wear, even those who have avoided matte lipsticks in the past would not be able to resist the feel of this. It blurs lines and smoothes the lip with a blurred, soft focus effect for 10 hours.
