WHICH BLUSH SHADE IS BEST FOR ME?
For the most natural blusher colour, choose a shade that would naturally be found in your skin. Blush for fair skin tones usually work best with creamy pinks and peaches, blush for medium skin tone tend to suit rich corals and berry tones and blush for dark skin tones complement with deeper amber and rose tones.
WHICH BLUSH TEXTURE IS BEST FOR ME?
The texture of our powder blush is a light powder that gently adheres to your skin and is perfect if you want a blusher that is easy to apply and looks natural. In comparison, our mineralize blush contains baked minerals that have been refined into a powder blusher formula, providing exceptionally sheer application, building lightly without heavy coverage.

The key to perfect blush? Placement + Blending! It's important to know your face shape to help inform where and how you want to define your face. People with round faces, for example, should consider blush application under the apples of their cheeks for more definition.
- For a Natural Look – Smile and apply blush to the apples of your cheeks, blending outward.
- For a Sculpted Effect – Sweep blush slightly higher, towards your temples, for a lifted look.
- For a Sun-Kissed Glow – Lightly dust across your nose and cheeks for that effortless, beachy flush.
Use a fluffy brush for powders, such as the 129S Powder/Blush Brush, and a dense brush or fingers for creams/liquids! Blush can be worn without other makeup or on top of primer, foundation and/or concealer. Powder Blush adds fantastic colour to cheeks with ease and consistency.
Cream blush is perfect for a dewy, skin-like finish. To apply cream blush, first warm the product on your fingertips or a brush. Tap onto your cheeks using a dabbing motion, blending upwards. Lastly, layer for more intensity, then set with translucent powder if needed. Try MAC Glow Play Blush for a weightless, bouncy texture!
Liquid blush blends seamlessly for a soft, natural flush. To apply liquid blush, apply 1-2 dots on your cheeks—less is more. Use a damp sponge, fingers, or brush to blend in light tapping motions. Then, build gradually for more color and set with powder if needed. For a radiant, glass-skin finish, mix liquid blush with a drop of MAC Strobe Cream!
Blush placement shapes your face—so choose wisely! Applying blush on the apples of cheeks provides a classic, natural, fresh-faced look. Alternatively, placing blush high on cheekbones, lifes and sculpts for a snatched look. When swept across the nose and cheeks, blusher will give a sun-kissed, trendy "drunk blush" effect. If you add blusher near temples and eyes, it can give more of an editorial effect - lifted and soft-focus.
The best blush depends on your skin tone + undertone + desired finish.
- For fair skin, opt for soft pinks, peaches and light corals (Try MAC Powder Blush in "Melba").
- For medium skin, choose warm corals, mauves and rose tones (Try MAC Powder Blush in "Gingerly"). Rich berries, deep oranges and bold reds complement tan/deep skin tones (Try MAC Powder Blush in "Raizin").
- For the most natural blusher colour, choose a shade that would naturally be found in your skin.
Pro Tip: Cream & liquid blushes work best for dry skin, while powder blushes suit oily/combination skin!
